About

Our Mission
Marbridge is a non-profit residential community that offers transitional and lifetime care to adults with a wide range of cognitive abilities and—through compassion and faith—provides them opportunities to learn, experience and achieve a whole new life.www.marbridge.org

A college-like alternative to group homes for mentally challenged adultsMarbridge is located just 12 miles south of the state capitol in beautiful Austin, Texas. We offer residents a high quality life in a safe, loving, faith-based community. Our care philosophy focuses on abilities, not disabilities, and we encourage residents to grow by providing opportunities to learn, experience and achieve the highest independence possible. We hope you'll visit our campus and see the difference between Marbridge and many group homes for developmentally disabled adults. At Marbridge, we provide ample opportunities for life enrichment through employment, sports and leisure, arts and music, social activities, academic skill development and community integration. Our training and education program is offered on a semester basis, providing a college-like experience for adults who may be leaving home for the first time.

A vibrant community alternative to group homes for mentally challenged adultsOur vibrant community provides residential care to more than 240 adults with intellectual disabilities. Unlike group homes for mentally challenged adults, our 170-acre campus consists of three interconnected communities where we provide varying levels of care—from skilled nursing and physical rehabilitation services, to assisted living, to semi-independent care.

Our comprehensive training program for mentally challenged adults builds life skills, job skillsTraining concentrates on assisting residents in key skill areas—Skills for Life, Job Skills and Leisure Skills. Often, finding jobs for mentally challenged adults can be difficult. Through Job Skills training, many Marbridge residents develop skills that allow them to qualify for community-based or campus-based employment. Our training and education program provides instruction and activities tailored to the individual's needs and abilities. Training is offered on a semester basis, providing a college-like experience for adults who may be leaving home for the first time.

Our specialized programs for mentally challenged adults serve a variety of diagnoses
Our resident population represents a diversity of diagnoses, and we offer a distinctly different lifestyle from that offered by most group homes for developmentally disabled adults. We develop an Individual Program Plan (IPP) for each resident, ensuring that each has ample opportunities to learn, experience and achieve a whole new life at Marbridge.
