Energy for Life walk - United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation

About

Description
Please join the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundations ENERGY FOR LIFE WALK, on September 29th at Greenfield Park (picnic area 3A) the walk begins at 12pm. We encourage everyone to walk whether an individual or a team of family and friends.

Due to the health conditions and the muscle tissue breakdown we have organized 2 walks. We are in work with having a color guard kick-off our walk. The walk is wheelchair and stroller accessible for all. The first walk is a half mile down to the pond. If you have more energy you can continue on around the pond which will have some great photo shot opportunities and the pond teaming with ducks. We encourage everyone to walk whether an individual or a team of family and friends. Bring a picnic and enjoy some entertainment, music, games, playgrounds and overall fellowship and awareness.

Mission: The Energy for Life walk promotes awareness, funding and research for those suffering from mitochondrial diseases. Mitochondria exist in nearly every cell of the human body, producing 90 percent of the energy the body needs to function. In a person with mitochondrial disease, the mitochondria are failing and cannot adequately convert food and oxygen into life sustaining energy.
