Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers

Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers (IVC) links volunteers to seniors in their neighborhood through Open Your Heart to a Senior.

Seniors who need some extra support to live independently at home and feel connected to their community are matched with volunteers who can help with grocery shopping, rides to appointments, friendly visiting, home safety checks, snow removal and more.

IVC partners with local religious congregations, universitites, community groups and individual volunteers.

Mission: Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers (IVC) is a nonsectarian initiative whose mission is to maximize the independence and overcome the isolation of the frail elderly in Allegheny County. IVC assists seniors through Open Your Heart to a Senior. IVC is a Community Partnerships program of Family Services of Western Pennsylvania.
