The Salvation Army serves homeless and low income individuals and families through its programs: Homeless Services: emergency lodging, day shelter, vocational training, transitional housing, affordable permanent housing, casemanagement and referral to other organizations for services; Family Services: food baskets, rent financial assistance, clothing vouchers, work cards, casemanagement and referral to other organizations for services; ARP Adult Rehabilitation Program: treatment for substance abuse and addictions; Human Trafficking: assistance to victims of human trafficking including basic needs -- food, shelter, clothing, and permanent housing, education, and medical; Mental Health Services: mental health treatment and housing for severely mentally ill clients; Adult Day Care: activities of daily living, social and recreational activities for elderly and developmentally disabled clients; Family Resource Center: parent education and infant/toddler development services and classes.
Beyond the immediate services to address an individual or families basic needs, the goal of The Salvation Army is to strengthen and unify families who are in severe financial crisis. We provide the counseling and casemanagement to address their entire life, treating the individual and the family to provide them with the tools, beyond their immediate needs, to lead them to a life of greater self sufficiency and independence. We treat the individual with plans developed to meet their unique needs, and services provided to address their specific needs and barriers. Though no one is required to participate in any religious activities we provide spiritual direction to help individuals and families to cope with adversity and stress, learn to think positively, and discover their inner path - the direction their lives need to take to achieve a healthy balance in their lives.
