Be The Change Austin




Be the Change Austin is a citywide day of service, in celebration of Gandhi's birthday, and inspired by his legacy. This year’s Be the Change Day of Service will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016.  

To kick off the event, join us for a gathering and welcome at Austin City Hall on Saturday morning (10/1) before the work begins. Details and full event information are available at

Several of our project sites are filled, plus we have added 2 new projects over the weekend.  The project sites that currently need volunteers are:

- Islamic Center of Brushy Creek (5 needed)
- Little Libraries Project (100 needed - NEW)
- Festival Beach Community Garden Day (50 needed - NEW)
- Central Texas Food Bank (21 needed)
- Sunset Valley Elementary School (75 needed)
- UT Microfarm (12 needed)

Some of our partner nonprofits are hosting service opportunities on Saturday, 9/24 (as part of National Public Lands Day) and Sunday, 10/2.  We are proud to promote these events even if they are not on "BTC Day" - but please check your calendars when you register for these events! 

Additional sites may be added! Feel free to contact us if you would like to host a service site, or if have any questions about the event.
