The results of brain injury are complex and individual as each brain injury is unique in its impact upon the person. Persons are usually affected physically, cognitively and emotionally. When a person enters Restart's residential program, he / she has been through the initial rehabilitation process, which usually occurs in an institutional setting. At Restart, residents begin their journey to increased independence through work on specific and individualized goals. Internal support services provided by Restart include Case Coordination, Registered Nurse Supervision, and Independent Living Skills teaching. Independent Living Skills are also available in the community through our Outreach Program. Restart ILS workers work with disabled clients on a 1-to-1 basis in their own homes, addressing structure, strategies and goals that will prevent the loss of independent living .
