Institute for Nonprofit Organizations

About

The mission of the Institute for Nonprofit Organizations (INPO) is to improve the leadership and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations. Housed within the UGA School of Social Work, the Institute was created in response to trends in the U.S. economy and public policy that underscored the increasing need for effective leaders, managers and professional staff throughout the nonprofit sector. To achieve its mission, the INPO administers a master’s degree, seminars and workshops for the nonprofit community, supports research opportunities, and delivers certificate programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels that are open to students in any major as well as to students not enrolled in any other UGA degree. More than 500 graduates of the certificate and master’s programs have gone on to successful careers in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations and our current students serve as interns with nonprofits in locally, statewide, nationally and globally.
