MIFA began in Memphis in 1968 following the sanitation workers' strike and the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Religious and lay leaders founded the organization as a means for all people to put their faith into action. Since its founding, MIFA has offered a hand up to hundreds of thousands of Mid-Southerners in need. This flexible local organization offers a variety of services to nurture our community. Donations of time, leadership, services and funds from individuals and community groups are critical to our success.
Mission: MIFA (Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association) supports the independence of vulnerable seniors and families in crisis through high-impact programs.
