There are currently four programs offered through Seniors in Service. The Senior Companion Program recruits senior volunteers (60+) to go into the homes of homebound, elderly clients and provide them with companionship and assistance. The Foster Grandparent Program recruits senior volunteers (60+) to go into schools and after-school programs to mentor at-risk and special needs children and provide them with one-on-one, individualized attention. Volunteer Caregivers aid frail, homebound elderly or disabled adults by providing them with friendly visitors who offer companionship, compassion and, sometimes, a helping hand. And finally, the Bill Payer Program recruits members of the community (any age) to volunteer 2-4 hours per month to go into the homes of elderly clients and assist them in writing out their checks, paying their bills and balancing their checkbook.
Mission: Seniors in Service of Tampa Bay, Inc. recruits, trains and places volunteers to help children succeed and elders remain independent.
