H.I.S. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that offers a therapeutic horseback riding program to children and adults with special needs. Lessons are given in 6 or 8 week sessions in the winter, spring, and fall seasons to individuals in the greater Richmond area. Participants range in age from 5 to senior citizens. No riding or horse experience is necessary for participants or volunteers.
Mission: To encourage people with disabilities, their families, and friends to achieve an enriched quality of life through physical, emotional, social, and spiritual development using the dynamics of therapeutic horseback riding.
