The unemployed workers we represent include those who are collecting unemployment benefits, those who have failed to qualify for benefits or who have rolled off unemployment. It also includes returning veterans, recent college graduates, senior citizens and disabled workers trying to return to the workforce. We represent all these workers and their families.
Central to our operations is a web site which provides a variety of resources unlikely to be found in any other single source.
Vox Clamantis provides articles on Job Search Best Practices. There are a host of job search techniques. Every one of them is a low-percentage shot. Some of them are higher low-percentage shots than others. Those are the ones people should focus on.
Very often, when people lose their jobs, they find themselves in need of a variety of social services. We provide links to Homeless Shelters, Free Clinics, Free Dental Clinics, Domestic Abuse Shelters, Free Cliics for Pets, Services for Seniors, Foreclusure & Eviction Avoidance and a host of other resources
Now that we have received our IRS tax deductible status, we can embark on fund raising activities. If we're successful, we're going to sponsor Free Regional Job Fairs, countrywide. We need volunteers for that.
Another objective is to sponsor Free Regional "Buy American Trade Shows" and we need volunteers for that, as well.
Volunteers need to be energetic, computer and Internet savvy, articulate and comfortable in face-to-face public contact. We have a strong need for peope with web development ability as well as a solid understanding of social media, If things work out, they need to be able to travel within a 50 mile radius to Vox-sponsored events. Expenses would be arranged or reimbursed.
Mission: Vox Clamantis represents the interests of unemployed workers, countrywide.
