Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education (RISE)

Approximately 4,000 children and youth in Rhode Island alone, have a parent incarcerated. 200 children are receiving RISE services. RISE offers Community-Based Mentoring, Tuition Scholarships and supplemental services to children and youth with a parent in prison. Additional supports can help these students achieve higher grades, increase attendance records and improve their confidence and self-esteem.

Mission: The mission of RISE is to provide mentoring and educational opportunities to children and youth of currently and formerly incarcerated parents. Our hope is to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty, crime and addiction that too often threatens them.
