Literacy Volunteers of Tucson, a Program of Literacy Connects

About

Literacy Volunteers of Tucson (LVT), a Program of Literacy Connects, believes that everyone should have the opportunity to learn to read, write and/or speak English. Since we began in 1961, our programs have been nationally accredited.

LVT is the primary adult education organization in Tucson, serving the needs of adults who read at or below the sixth-grade level. We offer an individualized approach to meet students where they are and to teach to each student's goals.

We train volunteer tutors to help students learn English or improve their reading, writing and math skills. We also provide ongoing professional development and specialized workshops for tutors and students.

Tutoring is free and takes place at times and public locations convenient to both tutor and student.

Mission: Literacy Volunteers of Tucson, a program of Literacy Connects, transforms lives and enriches our community by teaching adults to read, write and speak English.
