Colette's Children's Home

CCH is a community based program designed to meet the direct and immediate needs of those we serve. Program duration is six to nine months with this timeframe extended as circumstances warrant.

We are one of the few transitional housing programs in Orange County that accept women with substance abuse issues, are un-employed, or are otherwise difficult to place into transitional housing. The support we provide is critical for the process of recovery from alcoholism, substance abuse, economic hardship, or domestic violence, any one of which often contributes to homelessness. Our clients are provided individualized care by qualified Case Managers who work closely with each guest to develop personal recovery plans specifically designed to address the issues that resulted in their becoming homeless.

We provide for the health, education, and social welfare of our clients by providing assistance with enrollment in health insurance, referral to health care professionals, referral to continuing education and training programs, and participation in private and group meetings. Our Case Managers also act as advocates on behalf of our guests in addressing legal matters and with social service agencies. We focus on problem solving through goal setting and provide a total support system to meet physical needs such as housing, utilities, food vouchers, bus passes, clothing, and hygiene products, as well as emotional stability needs to increase self determination and self sufficiency such as life skills classes. These classes address topics which include parenting, job skills, securing employment, financial budgeting and management, reunification with children, and substance abuse relapse prevention.

Mission: Colette's Children's Home (CCH) provides emergency, transitional housing to homeless women with children and homeless single women. Our mission is to provide shelter in a safe and nurturing environment where women and children obtain the support and services needed to achieve self sufficiency. Our goal is the removal of barriers that cause displacement and the transition into permanent housing. We seek to end the generational cycle of homelessness in the lives of the women and their children.
