CALM (Community Advocates of Lifestyle Medicine) Outreach

About

This volunteer program allows college students to give back to their community and learn the fundamentals of lifestyle medicine, preventative health and self-care. Student volunteers are taught how to help patients incorporate lifestyle modifications into their daily lives to improve or prevent the onset of diseases such as anxiety, depression, obesity, chronic pain, chronic migraines, hypertension, diabetes, and others. Instead of medications and invasive treatments, our lifestyle treatment modalities include nutrition, exercise, stretching, deep-breathing, meditation, electronic hygiene, health hygiene, sleep hygiene, and more. CALM Outreach's goal is to bridge the gap between mental health and accessibility.
