Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT)

iACT's mission is to cultivate peace and respect through interfaith service, celebration, and dialogue. This mission is realized every day through our three programs: Red Bench, iACT for Refugees, and Hands on Housing.

iACT for Refugees: The only federally approved program providing ESL and cultural orientation classes to newly arrived refugees in the Austin area.

Red Bench: This dialogue series fosters unity by allowing people to meet others from different faith backgrounds, discover shared values and find common ground.

Hands on Housing: Austin's largest volunteer-based housing rehabilitation program provides critical home repairs to impoverished senior citizens, disabled individuals, and single parent households.

iACT also hosts several celebrations throughout the year, including the Hope Awards, A Night Under One Sky, and the Interfaith Thanksgiving. For more information about iACT programs and events, visit our website at
