NYOS Charter School

As its name implies, NYOS is far from run-of-the-mill. NYOS was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted better for their children. A better academic program. A better learning environment. Better instructional tools. Relationships matter. We strive toward these ideals every day. Each NYOS classroom has a very small student-teacher ratio. Elementary and Middle-School students keep the same teacher for two years; this is called looping. Our calendar approximates a year-round schedule with a shortened summer and breaks at the end of each quarter.
