Multicultural Refugee Coalition

About

The Multicultural Refugee Coalition is a long-term support network for legal refugees settled to Austin. Our programs help refugees avoid the spiral into poverty, find a supportive community, and achieve long-term success.
MRC has two main program areas: Pathways to Self-Sufficiency and Community Development. Pathways to Self-Sufficiency offers resources for long-term economic mobility, including computer literacy programs, a language practice lab, and job skills assessment and career planning services. These tools help refugees acquire skills needed for living wage jobs and help them search for such jobs, or obtain re-certification in their previous professions. MRC’s Community Development programs help build community and leadership through a sewing lab, a community garden, and a children’s program.
