The Autism Society is the nation's leading grassroots autism organization, working to increase public awareness about the day-to-day issues faced by people living with autism, advocating for appropriate services for individuals across the lifespan and the spectrum, and providing the latest information regarding treatment, education and advocacy.
Founded in 1965 by a group of parents of children with autism; today the Autism Society consists of a strong nationwide affiliate network, hosts an extensive website, offers a national referral database paired with live 7 day per week phone and email support, publishes a magazine and e-newsletter and hosts the most comprehensive national conference on autism.
