Frog Watch USA is designed to elevate awareness of amphibian and wetland conservation by actively engaging people in the collection of valuable data on the status of frogs and toads. Thousands of people across the United States contribute to Frog W atch USA by periodically surveying a convenient wetland for the presence of calling frogs and toads and submitting their findings the Frog W atch USA website (www.frogwatch.org). The data collected represent a unique information base on geographic distribution of frogs and toads, population changes at individual wetlands, and seasonal timing of vocal activity.
Mission: FrogWatch USA is a citizen science program of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) that provides individuals, groups, and families with an opportunity to learn about wetlands in their communities and report valuable data on the calls of local frogs and toads that contribute to local conservation efforts.
