Striving To Achieve Real Success Mentoring Organization

Striving to Achieve Real Success is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring self esteem, both academic and career motivation & achievement to the lives of Washington, D.C. youth. This program forms partnerships with local, and statewide mentorship programs, schools, and juvenile delinquent facilities. S.T.A.R.S’ aim is to promote self awareness, philanthropic opportunities, college scholarships, and strong interpersonal skills. Washington D.C.’s youth have lost faith in their school systems and communities at large. Due to ubiquitous D.C. school shut downs, lack of educational materials, hungers, and homelessness, D.C.’s youth have suffered a major disadvantage. These epidemics have lead to low school attendance, low morale, and violence.

S.T.A.R.S’ envisions a program where youth are receiving after school tutoring, peer counseling, and grant making and one on one mentorship. We aim to give the youth incentives for striving to achieve real success, in their personal, spiritual, and academic living. We are that 'village’ that nurtures the emotional needs of our youth. We will assist youth in finding employment, implementing entrepreneurship courses, and other fun activities that keep youth active by guiding them exponentially into college or with independent living resources. S.T.A.R.S aim is to build a collective cluster of relationships that will grow into a strong support culture of friendships among the youth. We envision that this culture will elevate the social skills of D.C.’s youth, while relying on these partnerships to build their moral character.

S.T.A.R.S will be one of the top ten mentoring organizations globally, as we branch into initiatives that focus on, but are not limited to: teen pregnancy programs, food pantry, community outreach, college tours, and field trips, back to school drives, etiquette workshops, and annual gala events. Our vision is to make a huge impact in D.C. communities by eloquently mastering philanthropic service. We are strategic in our approach to youth activism and will build strong character skills, by continuously developing wholistic incentives, creating an organization that will allow youth to believe that they can achieve anything they desire. S.T.A.R.S envision is that our atmosphere will be augmented with encouragement, friendliness and service orientation for the community at large.

Mission: S.T.A.R.S. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to focus on the daily challenges of youth and young adults, ages 7 through 21. S.T.A.R.S is based on the needed skills for real world experiences.
