College of Marin - Adapted PE




College of Marin’s Adapted Physical Education program serves a diverse student population: adults eighteen and older with disabilities caused by conditions such as multiple sclerosis, stroke/cardiovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and paralysis, Parkinson’s, arthritis, joint replacement, Autism, Down’s syndrome, and cerebral palsy.  Experience with our students and staff can foster one’s working knowledge of adults with disabilities, which along with one’s course of study at Dominican University, can help prepare one for a career in physical or occupational therapy, nursing, rehabilitation fitness, eldercare, adult day care, special education, Special Olympics and much more.
