The Student Engagement Team is one of the signature programs within the Volunteer Action Center (VAC). We exist to create meaningful service opportunities for University of Arkansas students to contribute to the Campus and Northwest Arkansas community. Our Major Events:
- Get Your 10 (GY10)
- GY10 is a membership program aimed to encourage UofA students to perform acts of service throughout the academic year. Once a student reaches 10 hours, they become a VAC member and receive a membership perks card, which provides discounts at participation NWA businesses. As students gain more hours, they are eligible for additional perks. Visit here for more info: GY10
- Make a Difference Day (MADD)
- Join us on October 28th, 2017, one of the largest days of service nationwide! In the fall semester, the Student Engagement Team partners with local agencies in the NWA community to host service projects for students, faculty, staff, and community members to complete. You can choose from a variety of projects and serve as a Project Leader or a general volunteer. Sign ups are listed below!
- Hogs United Games (HUG)
- In the spring, we host HUG, a partnership between the Student Engagement Committee and Special Olympics Arkansas. Structured similarly to a field day, students are partnered with a Special Olympics Athlete and play a variety of sports. Students can choose to be a buddy, general volunteer, or fan in the stands. The goal of HUG is to bring people together to show that everyone has a place and is valued in the UofA community.
