Every fall and spring (usually October and March), Tandana organizes a Health Care Volunteer Vacation to Ecuador. Volunteers spend a week in Quichinche Parish, located in the breathtakingly beautiful highlands of Ecuador.Volunteers will spend the morning working as a team to provide medical care to community members in several rural villages. The afternoons will be filled with enjoyable activities such as hikes to sacred sites, cooking classes, or visits to craftspeople and traditional healers. At night, volunteers can relax and socialize together at comfortable Las Palmeras Inn. Health care credentials are not needed to participate in this trip, just a willingness to make a difference. Tandana also coordinates customized group service projects, and we would be glad to work with anyone from your university to design a program that meets your needs and achieves your goals. Tandana trips gives the volunteers a chance to be treated as guests rather than tourists in both countries and form cross-cultural friendships. The Tandana Foundation also raises money to help Ecuadorian students to continue their education and fund small community projects in both countries.
