Hey Guys!
I'm your team leader for Geaux BIG Baton Rouge. Geaux Big is this Saturday, March 22. We will be meeting on the LSU Parade Grounds at 8:00 am and there will be a Kick-off Ceremony at 8:30. It would be great if we could meet up on the Parade Grounds but there will be a lot of people and it might be hard to find each other. If anyone has any ideas of where we could meet on the Parade Grounds feel free to share. I will be wearing my Kinesiology Club t-shirt, so find me if you can. We will leave for the job site at 8:50am.
We were assigned to Sweet Olive Cemetery. If we don't get a chance to meet up before we leave, we are to park in the middle of Sweet Olive/North 22nd St. It may be best to carpool so that we don't have a ton of cards parked on the road. Someone will be there to help us out. The services we will provide include picking up trash, cutting weeds, and painting graves.
Geaux Big asks that everyone wear the appropriate clothing and tennis shoes (or any closed toe shoe) and bring your Tiger Card and a bottle of water. Sunscreen and bug spray may also be a good idea. There is a chance of rain so prepare yourselves for that. I will go over the rest of the safety precautions at the job site.
We should finish around 12:30 and then head back to the Parade Grounds where lunch will be waiting for us.
I look forward to seeing all of you bright and early Saturday morning. Get excited to participate in a great project!
