On September 13, 2008, the First Annual "Saints in the Streets" Clean-Up Day became a reality. Volunteers simply picked up trash, weeded overgrown curbs, trimmed trees and removed debris from the sides of the streets. Since 2009, additional churches and neighborhood organizations have become a part of this special mission. As the number of volunteer participants has grown, the number of streets and alleyways receiving this “TLC” has expanded. In addition, the efforts now include working in neighborhood parks, alleys, and yards for area neighbors unable to maintain their property. This very simple outreach has made a difference in the appearance of the neighborhood and brought a spirit of unity.
