Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering student needed to serve as a volunteer robotics mentor for a high school team.
Job description: Coach 2-3 rookie students to program the autonomous commands for robot using Java codes and Android App Studio. Must commit to at least 2 Saturdays a month from 1-4:30 pm. Must clear background check (traffic tickets no big deal).
Robotics team meets in Westlake: 6:30-8:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays, Saturdays from 1-4:30. Minimum 2 Saturdays per month commitment. Prefer more.
Fluent or proficient Java.
Proficiency or willingness to rapidly learn Android App Studio using Java.
Leadership and good verbal skills to mentor students in programming the autonomous phase of our robot. Students have no Java experience but eager and smart. Patience is a must.
Performance may lead to a summer or semester position as Intellectual Property Law Clerk at a leading US and European patent law boutique in Austin. You will learn about the patent process in cutting edge software/ IT/microprocessor technology under Carnegie Mellon engineering/ UT law att.orneys.
UT engineering alumnus and founding partner of IP law firm will provide letter of recommendation for volunteer work.
