The Helpers Organization's (THO) mission assists low income families by addressing the needs of affordable housing, economic development, and neighborhood revitalization. They offer free referral services, financial assistance on a case by case basis, and a "Lunch On Us" initiative where They prep and distribute sandwiches to the homeless and working poor.

Two events they need help with are:

• Winter care packages for homeless veterans. They are trying to raise at least 100 packages by Dec. 11th that will be donated to the VetHouse in Virginia Beach.
• Clean up at Evelyn Butts Bus Transfer Station. The clean up is scheduled for December 5th, 2015, depending on the weather. Rakes, pick up sticks, gloves, brooms, and other things will be provided.
