Lions Club at UT Austin

We are Lions.

We are a group of like-minded men and women aimed towards the betterment of our community, for our campus, and for our world.

Directly involved with the charter of the United Nations, Lions focus on international as well as local relief and are just about everywhere.Whether it is to eradicate blindness as Helen Keller personally requested, or to provide emergency relief to our neighbors effected by disaster, or even to help mentor children and teens, we are there.

As part of the Largest Service Organization in the WORLD with around 1.38 million members in virtually every nation, we strive to meet our motto of "We Serve" with the highest regard.

I'm a puppy raiser with Guide Dogs for the Blind-Austin. One of the things we do as a club is presentations about GDB and the puppies we raise as volunteers for this incredible organization. We've done presentations for multiple Lions club as well as many other organizations.

If you would like to have us speak with your group just let us know and we'd be happy to tell your organizations all about the life of a puppy raiser.

Currently there is a documentary about GDB that follows the life of 5 pups as they are being raised, it's called Pick of the Litter. I believe it's currently on Netflix. It's a feel good movie that would be a good diversion from studying.

One of our raisers is Courtney Dao who is a UT student. If you see a student on campus with a dog that has a green vest on that says Guide Dogs for the Blind, Puppy in training that's probably her.

I look forward to hearing from you.
