American Liver Foundation-Desert Southwest Division

About

The Arizona Chapter, based in Phoenix, services the entire population of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Utah through our main office. Each year we conduct liver disease patient education conferences in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tucson. These education conferences provide information on four to five various topics and treatment of liver disease and are presented by the leading doctors in Arizona. This provides patients an opportunity to hear from experts that they might not be otherwise able to access. This year we offered a First Steps Class in Phoenix for people who are recently diagnosed with Hep C. We also offer support groups throughout the state of Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and Utah. Aside from providing emotional support, the American Liver Foundation provides training for the support group facilitators and speakers for the groups throughout the entire state. Throughout the state, we also attend health fairs where we answer questions as well as distribute liver information.

The Arizona Chapter has several fundraising events every year, including Flavors of Phoenix, Flavors of Tucson, Liver Life Walk, and Flavors of Houston. These fundraisers help us achieve our mission.

Mission: The American Liver Foundation is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for liver health promotion and disease prevention. ALF provides research, education and advocacy for those affected by liver-related diseases, including hepatitis.
