Established in 1987, OCHSA provides bright and talented students with a creative, challenging and nurturing environment that inspires them to express themselves and achieve their highest potential in academia and the arts.

OCHSA is a 7th through 12th grade, tuition free, donation dependent, public charter school offering a rigorous academic experience and unparalleled arts education in 11 arts conservatories:

2009, 208 Best High Schools in America - Silver Medal recipient (U.S. News & World Report)

2009, 2005 California Distinguished SchoolNamed by the California Department of Education on May 11, 2005 as a "2005 California Distinguished School". OCHSA was one of only 30 Orange County public middle schools and high schools, and one of only 192 California public middle schools and high schools selected by for this award.

2006 No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon SchoolOn September 22, 2006 the U.S. Department of Education awarded OCHSA education's top prize for an individual school, a " 2006 No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon School". OCHSA was one of 250 schools nationwide, and was one of only five public schools in Orange County, and one of only 35 schools in the State of California, to receive this prestigious award!

2005 Academic Performance Index (API)OCHSA 2005 API score of 856 ranked the school as one of the top five high schools in Orange County and in the top ten percent in California. Ninety-nine percent of our graduating classes go on to higher education in a four- or two-year institution.
