Founded in 1999, the Rhode Island Free Clinic is nationally recognized for its volunteer/community partner model. In 2018, the Clinic mobilized an active statewide corps of over 700 volunteers throughout Rhode Island – including medical professionals, AmeriCorps VISTA members, and student trainees– to provide over 8,000 patient visits to over 2,300 patients. The Clinic's MISSION is to be a medical home for uninsured, low-income Rhode Island adults by providing free access to primary care, dental care, behavioral health care, specialty care, labs and diagnostics, Wellness Programs and medicine.
