On October 21, the Sigma Chi Epsilon Kappa Chapter at the University of Memphis held a pageant in coordination with the Panhellenic organizations on campus for the finale of their Derby Days fundraising week. The Derby Days fundraising efforts benefit the U.S. Special Olympics Organization and donates to special olympic athletes in need of financial assistance. In addition to raising funds for these fundraising efforts, I volunteered by assisting in the set- up, clean up, and coordination of the Sigma Chi house for the Derby Dolls Pageant. The amount raised for the entire week equaled to more than $20,301.99 in total.
On October 28, 2018, I volunteered with Sigma Chi in coordination with Special Olympics Memphis. During this time, I played flag football alongside and made connections with many of the special olympics participants present on that day. This event took place at the University of Memphis UC Alumni Lawn.
