I got to the event at 8am to see a lot of work needed to be done. From shoveling sand and mulch all morning, to staining tables and play houses in the afternoon, we got a lot of work done in the 7 hours I was there and it makes me feel really good knowing the kids are going to love the outcome Monday morning!

It feels great working hard to help build a park where children can come and play. Everyone was so nice and I had lots of fun!

My experience as a volunteer for Starbright Preschool's Fall Yard and Building Clean-up event was truly worthwhile. Some of my duties included cleaning children play areas, staining wood benches, and washing miscellaneous items. The goal was to restore this preschools backyard into a cleaner and newer state for the children to safely play in. I had an enjoyable time at this event and I met many new and kind people. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely volunteer at this location again!

Based on this volunteer opportunity, I was able to seek the insight of accomplishing a place for pre-school students to enjoy their play time. In which I took on the task to clean their little house and help out with the gardens to beautify their place of play and for educational purposes. By doing this, it made me realize I was going to make a ton of little children happy. I put in my full effort, because I remember being a child once and wanting a playground to enjoy free time. The fact that we did it in the weekend was for the students to come back on Monday to see a playground, the one myself and all the volunteers helped create. It was a great experience to have been a part of this event to make little children happy for a place to play.

It was great having the opportunity to help surprise the students with a new place to play in! The area was cleaned, repaired, and readied for the return of the preschool students. We were also fed very nicely with many different types of food! It was a great environment with people that truly cared about seeing the students happy.
