Shift Details

Shift NameWhistling Springs Brewing Co Aid Station
Description

Whistling Springs Brewery is the party station for this race!! There will be music going, refreshing beverages available at the brewery (they make great homemade root beer in addition to the alcoholic drinks), and WSB's potbelly pigs either lounging or wandering around begging for scratches. This aid station is so much fun.

First riders are expected at around 9:30am and final riders around 3:45pm. Timing cutoff for incoming riders is 3:30pm, but we should keep the aid station open until the final rider rolls in to make sure these riders get the sustenance they need to recover before catching a shuttle or a ride with their crew back to Bentonville.

First shift at the aid station will need to set up tables, tents, the Water Monster hydration system, and lay out food for hungry incoming riders (equipment will be in a Uhaul). Second shift will take over for first shift (you can sign up for both shifts if you wish) and pack all equipment back into the Uhaul at the end.

As riders come in, you will help them empty their trash, refill bottles with water or Untapped sports drink, restock on fuel and cheer them on as they head out to tackle the final 30 miles of the course!

Several aid station workers will also need to act as traffic control. There is only one road in and out of WSB, which both the riders and their support crews will be using. This could be a point of dangerous interaction between bicycles and vehicles, so we will want to post marshals at intervals along the road to help ensure drivers are being safe, slow and courteous to riders.
