Ohio Town Gown Conference Presenter RFP
Ohio University is seeking proposals for presentations for the 2021 Virtual Ohio Town Gown Conference, a gathering of local community, government, and higher education leaders and stakeholders, on July 14-15th. The Summit will highlight best practices to strengthen town/gown partnerships, provide insights into the changing student demographics, prepare for post-pandemic economic recovery, and plan for resilience in community and campus infrastructure. Governmental, nonprofit organization, university and college personnel and affiliates, including students, are welcome to attend. 

Proposals are due by May 15th. Presentations should be roughly an hour in length and focused on one of the following key themes:

  • Strengthening Town Gown Relationships: Best Practices for campus and community partnerships 
    • What innovative partnerships are you implementing in your universities, colleges, and communities supporting collaboration and mutual benefit?
  • Welcoming the Next Generation of College Students: The impact of demographic shifts and racial equity in our campus communities
    • How can we broaden our understanding of education, diversity, accessibility and engage racial equity on campus and in the community?
  • COVID-19 Response and Recovery: Best practices and partnerships for public health and resilient communities
    • How can we plan to continue to support public health and sustain our town/gown economies?
    • What collaborative strategies are you implementing to support pandemic response for communities and higher education in relation to economic impact, navigating federal relief funding, or planning for coming year and beyond?
  • Sustainable Infrastructure: Campus and community strategies for climate change and innovative infrastructure planning
    • How can our campuses and communities transform our infrastructure in sustainable ways?
    • How are you planning for long-term triple-bottom-line (economic, environmental, and community) sustainability in your communities or on campus to reduce costs, build resilience, and respond to climate change?
