Tonight was Halloween 2.0! It was so fun to trick or treat with my little partner and his brother. My partner dressed up as an officer and his brother dressed up as Dracula. I dressed up as a cat and so did half the other girl big partners! We first went to Lund then we went to Coed. We visited all of the floors and we even visited my old section, 1A. My partner and I only trick-or-treated in Coed. After that we went back to Lund and played soccer and colored. This was so fun to see other costumes but also re-live Halloween with such cute kids! I can't wait for next year!
This Wednesday we were still talking about different types of irony. The students had two activities to do, they had different stations that included types of irony and then they had a worksheet that told a story and they had to find the types of irony. My job was to make sure everyone was staying on task and following directions. The students did really well with both the activities. There were a couple of conversation that had to be take care of, otherwise everyone did really well by getting straight to work and staying focused.
Today was the first day that I spent time with Owen. We met at three flags and then we hung out with my other friend's little partner as well. We first went to get markers and then coloring sheets from the front desk and the Diversity Center. Then, we went up to the caf and grabbed some apples for a snack. We colored, talked and ate our snack. Time flew by and before we knew it, our hour was up. It was a great first day and I can't wait to hang out with little partner!
Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Owen and his whole family! It was fun to learn about what he likes and what he is going to be for Halloween. During the parent part of the BPLP celebration, the Bigs and Littles went to Lund to play! I took Aidan (Owen's twin brother) and Owen to Lund and we colored the whole time! We talked and it was really fun to hang out with them. After Lund, we went back to mom and dad and talked upstairs and I got to talk to Carter, their three year old brother! It was a really fun night and I can't wait to hang out with Owen again!
This was our first day at St. Peter Middle School and in Ms. Gustafson's classroom. Amy and I arrived and we took a seat in the very back of the class and stayed till class was out in order to talk to Ms. G. During class we learned about Edgar Allen Poe because that is the unit the 8th graders were starting that week. At the end of class, Ms. G told us that we would mostly be helping with students if they had a question or if they were off task. We are going to be her extra helpers! It looks like a great group of students and Ms. G is a fun teacher to be with. Can't wait for more visits.
Today we went to BPLP training. We learned who was in charge and what do to with our partners.
