I really enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer with the Kinetic Kids ACE Program at University United Methodist Church! The participants in this program were a bit older from those in the other Kinetic Kids programs I've volunteered with, so I was able to experience a different volunteering experience. I've appreciated being able to be around kids with a wide range of ages throughout my Kinetic Kids experiences! I especially enjoyed being able to participate in the kids' enthusiasm for dodgeball!
I really enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer with the Kinetic Kids soccer at Mays YMCA! I paired up with another volunteer for the first class, and then was able to spend the second class one-on-one with one of the kids. The boy I paired with really enjoyed playing soccer, and I was glad to be able to share in his enthusiasm!
I really enjoyed being able to volunteer at Providence Place's first Familiapalooza! I was able to volunteer for three shifts (3:30-8:30), which allowed me to experience three different volunteer positions. I helped as a parking attendant, as someone who helped involve attendees who hadn't yet participated in the main activities, and with the popcorn and cotton candy stand. I most enjoyed helping involve attendees! One of my favorite interactions from the day was playing frisbee with one of the attendees while he was telling me about the sheep that Providence Place cares for. Overall, I really enjoyed all the people, and I would enjoy volunteering with Providence Place again!
I really enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer with the Kinetic Kids baseball at the Southside location at 5 Diamonds Little League Fields. I had a great time spending time with the kids that I was paired up with, as well as the other volunteers!
