Today I enjoyed writing 2 humble requests. I enjoyed this a lot because it's a great way to put my writing skills to the test! I was able to learn about 2 of our kids' conditions and the obstacles they've overcome. I also did some research on their conditions and learned about symptoms, physical effects and mental effects.
Today I attended a brief part of a Lunch with Allegiant airlines. They informed us on how we can increase the safety and comfortability for our wish kids and their families when flying to and from destinations. I also watched a module about ways to make others feel more involved in M.A.W. I edited some accounts based off of call information we received.
Today I edited some information in our database. I also was present for multiple calls intended to inform our families that their wish child was approved for a wish.
Today I gotta bunch of experience entering children into our database! I enjoyed following along to the written directions and completing the tasks successfully.
Today I learned how to input new referrals into our system. I also organized more binders for first time parents. Today was a lot of fun with Devynn!
Today I organized binders for our wish kids. These binders are what the parents receive once they are introduced to the organization to fully understand what our purpose is. I also got to sit down and interact with 3 other members in charge of numerous committees at Make-A-Wish. I also spoke with he girls about seeing if In-N-Out could be a donation source for Make-A-Wish.
Today I finished watching my on-boarding modules! Woohoo! I'm super excited about that! I also spoke with our online help team and learned some things about my computer and the program we use.
Today at Make-A-Wish I continued watching my videos for new volunteers/ staff members. I also shadowed Devynn. Devynn was once an intern at Make-A-Wish, but now works with them full-time. She showed me how to send emails, respond to emails, create and fill out documents, and much more.
Today I got a tour of the facility and was introduced to the staff. I received my own desk where I sat for 4 hours watching beginner's modules about the organization and the process of being a volunteer there.
