Today Jenisis brought her lunch and talked about her mom preparing her lunch. I asked if she was having a good week. She shared an incident, but handled it very well. I told her life will have days that incidents happen, but as long as we learn from them and try to make good choices we're fine. She asked for games last week and I brought Connect 4 and Art design with sand. We only had an opportunity to play connect four. She won the first game and i won the second. She is very attentive when it comes to details. We shared a picture with one of our wins. Next week we want to work on more of getting to know each other from some of our introductory package.

As she ate lunch, we discussed foods she enjoy. We were in the Family room and she informed me that the items from college day could be taken. We discussed the importance of the responsible person getting permission for certain actions even though she felt very comfortable that the items could be taken. The college counselor met us in the hall and said "sure they can have them", it's for the students. I told her even though she knew it, it's important that the adult has the same understanding and I appreciate her sharing with me the way they normally do events.
Met with mentee for the first session. We did an introductory game just to break the ice. She is very intelligent for a 3rd grader, but has difficulty remaining seated and staying focused and on task. We will continue our who I am games in order to break any barriers and find ways of improving.
Met with the new Mentee at Dunbar Elementary School. Received sign-in information and met with staff and received instructions for the New Ballet Ensemble participant.
