To be completely honest, I wasn't the biggest fan of this project in both execution and motivation. We were disorganized and we were just all all over the place at the school painting the walls white. That was the other thing, the motivation behind the painting itself. There were, originally, very nice multicolored walls that made me feel very warm and welcomed into the space. However the school wanted us to whitewash those walls due to the rambunctious nature of the kids that went there, which honestly, really put me off and and I didn't really feel good doing this project. I feel like the kids would be rambunctious anyway due to the fact that they are kids and be sanitizing the school's old wall colors by whitewashing them, that you are destroying an aspect of the nature of the children. I do not want to do this sort of thing ever again unless it to color in the white walls with murals or just return them to there natural, colorful, place.

It was a really nice time celebrating the holidays and helping out at the home. It always seems like this time of years gets people in a good mood from the beginning.
This time around, I was able to help set up a game of Bingo with some of the dependent residents.
I was able to go around to meet several residents and see if they needed tech support, though, funny enough, none of them actually needed help and their names just hadn't been crossed off of the list. Fortunately, I was able to sit down and talk with some of them and got to hear some pretty cool stories from a GW alumni! Later, I was able to help get an outing organized to go to a restaurant for some veterans.
It was really awesome to just hang out with the veterans and help them with things like tech support for things that we younger folk are more adept with, but they are unfamiliar with. It was also a great time to talk with them about their banter and sense of humor which I can really appreciate.
I thought that it was really nice that we were able to go out into a community that is right nearby and that we'll be able to see the impact of in the near fear future.
