I am the Project Princess director for the nonprofit, Project Princess. On Nov 6, we held a fundraising event at the Rowing Dock to raise money for Boutique day. I ran this entire event, coordinating girls to check people in, man the food table, hand out life jackets, etc.
I am on volunteer management committee so I was at The Project from start to finish. I was in charge of check-in, so I had to manage a group of 7 people to check in all of the volunteers. After checking in was cleaned up, I was running around just trying to help any of the other people on the committee that needed helping hands.
Being on committee for Project 2016, I conduct trainings for the team leads we recruited for the project day of. I conducted four trainings, all of which were 2 hours each. The training dates were Nov 4,5,8, and 11.
Project Princess - Texas Lonestars (a service organization at UT) founded, spent 8 hours at Boutique day helping underprivileged girls in the Austin area find a prom dress out of the many that were donated to this cause, along with a pair of shoes, jewelry, etc. This event was very heart-warming and made me appreciate what I have.
UT Swim Meet - timed the laps that the swimmers from different schools swam
Austin Creative Reuse Event - came in later to help clean up the site they were at and move all of their art supplies and finished products into their vehicles
UT Best Buddies - opened and managed a booth, creating styrofoam plate spiders with pipe cleaners for the mentally disabled people that attended the carnival
Buddy Walk - helped families carry in their tents and supplies, helped served the food, helped with patrolling the game stations
Austin Street Youth - helped at the church on 21st and Guadelupe by working in the kitchen and serving warm cooked meals to the homeless of Austin
