We had a community Halloween themed event for the kids in the neighborhood. It was very fun for the little kids and made them smile! :)
I volunteered for Texas Children's hospital! It is an ongoing community service event that I am participating in throughout the semester. I really enjoy this volunteer experience because I make children smile and appreciate the meaning of life even more every shift I complete.
I enjoyed this event because I helped lbc raise money to donate to charity! :)
I volunteered at an event in Dallas as a pre-dental student. The event was called Texas Missions of Mercy. I really enjoyed the event because as a volunteer I was able to see Dentists give free care to patients who met certain requirements. Giving back to the community is something I really care about and the fact that the Dentists took time out of their busy schedules to give FREE care to those in need was incredible!
I helped organize the school library. In this day and age, everything seems to be technology-oriented. Many people read e-books instead of the actual hard copy of a book. However, if we can find a way to make the library appealing to students, it may make them give motivate them to read from an actual book and appreciate the value of the hard copy book.
I volunteered with the Texas Predental society at the Emerson living home on October 30, 2014. We made Halloween decorations for the elderly. Because they don't get to necessarily leave the elderly home and they don't get many visitors, when we visit them, they light up! I think it's important to connect with the elderly population because often times they are under represented.
