I wrote notes to healthcare workers for online service hours.
Fundraised $100 for Tigers for St. Jude!
I made Easter baskets with my friends for Le Bonheur for Easter! There were goodies in there and also a mask for them to decorate like a bunny!
I helped distribute meals at the YMCA.
I made a care kit for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The care kits included toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc.
I got school supplies for kids and brought them to campus. I got crayons, coloring books, pencils, etc.
We made Valentine's Day bags for the kids at Le Bonheur. It makes me so happy to see the kids faces when we do these small things that make a huge difference.
Talk about early morning service! I really enjoyed volunteering at the Go Lucy Go annual 5k-10k. I had always heard about this event, but I never knew the story behind it. Lucy was diagnosed with brain cancer at a young age and they did not know how long she would live, but she survived it! Now, they raise money every year at this run. It is such an impacting story and I was glad to be a part of this event to give back. I helped direct traffic, help any of the runners and help clean up.
For this service hour, I went to the store to look for items for children such as crayons, coloring books, pencils, pens, etc. There were plenty of items to choose from. I picked out ten items for these children. I then dropped them off at the UC to be donated to the Child Advocacy Center. Even though I did not get to do hands on work, I still enjoyed getting to get items that may brighten a child's day!
