Zoom issues again, sorry! Based on what I heard from students back in the ARISE biology class, however, I'm sure the presentations were great. I had a great time working with students and hearing their ideas about the issues and what they thought was most important in terms of the root issue underlying or being caused by food insecurity, which was behavioral health.

I was supposed to work in Emily's advisory to evaluate biology presentations, but I was never let into the zoom. TA Hanh Le said to log an hour anyway, and hopefully I will be let into the zoom to see the presentations tomorrow.

In our last class with ARISE, we worked in small groups to help students finalize their final presentations. I worked on the community health needs section and how they were all related. Participation from the students in my group today was great, and I was able to answer questions they had and also ask them questions of my own. We worked through the descriptions of different health needs, and figured out the main issue behind them and how they were related. After a while, the students didn't even need me to guide them, as they came up with the connection between issues on their own.

I worked again with a small group of ARISE students, and tried to encourage them to actively participate in the group discussion. It was interesting to hear about the students' ideas for their final projects, as I will be sitting in on their presentations next week.

Helping out in the ARISE class and giving a presentation on Module 3. I tried to answer questions in the chat as well if students had any. Many of the students who answered questions for the class were students I had met and worked with before, so it was great getting to hear their thoughts on the module.

My group and I did presentation prep for the ARISE presentation we gave on 11/17. We went over our worksheet questions in order to make sure each of us understood the worksheet and were all able to answer. We also discussed how we would handle any questions asked in class on Tuesday.

I met with my group to prepare and record our presentation for the class. We made worksheet questions, practiced our presentation, discussed the worksheet questions and went through them to make sure they were appropriate, and then recorded our presentation for Tuesday's class.

The GW biology group met up to work on our presentation for the ARISE class next week. We went over notes and solidified which module section we were each going to do for the presentation. We also started thinking through worksheet questions in order to make them interesting but also easy to answer based on our presentation.

Today we spent time together as a whole class going over the CHNA. It was really great to see how different students interpreted the same information and to see how students I've been working with shared what they learned. Afterwards, I met with my GW biology group to work on our upcoming presentation.

In class I was able to work with new students and build a rapport with them. Everyone shared their answers to the worksheet, and we had plenty of time for questions. During breakout group time, I was able to ask the students about their own experiences in Oakland. I asked them if they experienced some of the issues mentioned in the CHNA, and they opened up to me about what their personal experiences were like. Afterwards, I met with the other GW students in my biology group to start discussing and working on the presentation we will be giving in class.
