I was given the opportunity to train young girls gymnastics as well as how to eat healthy and maintain excercise every day.
I was able to help out a local hospital volunteering
I will be able to represent ULN TX 18 at this event called Inside Books where I have volunteered many times before. It is a volunteer center that mails books to inmates who are wanting to make their lives better by continuing their education while incarcerated. We write them letters and send educational as well as entertaining books to read.
I will be helping welcome the ULN TX 19 class as they enter the internship fair! I am thrilled and eager to see whats in store for them!
This was a service opportunity that I would encourage everyone to try and attend. It empowered people in the community who did not have the resources or knowledge as parents on how to use the internet for various things. Now thanks to techcomunidad, parents can monitor their children's progress in school online and even find a job/career.
Assisted in gardening with fellow peers
A group of about 40 of us, drive out to San Marcos' Spring Lake where we helped remove intrusive plants nearby the spring lake. It was an amazing experience as we learned more about the history of the spring lake and how important it is to help conserve it as well as how we were contributing to that!
Within the two hours, we were designated into groups of 4-5 people and assigned a building on campus. We were instructed to turn off all lights in honor of "Longhorn Lights Out" which promotes saving energy. We also spread awareness by posting notes on windows, doors, entrances etc of the building that reminded people to conserve energy.
Made posters with inspirational quotes to post around the campus as motivation for UT students and their finals.
