Daniel is doing a great job of organizing and communicating with me and I felt like I was helping these students learn. I believe outside the box dropout prevention has a great mission and I look forward to seeing them grow.
I've been volunteering at the Texas school for the blind and visually impaired for a couple months now. It is great I have helped with the pep squad and also with bowling. The staff is friendly and I look forward to working with them when I volunteer. This is great because I wanted to be a teacher in the future and this volunteering experience has greatly benefitted me.
I volunteered as a projectionist at the Austin Film Festival. For this day I was projecting at the Rollins Theatre at the Long Center. It was a great learning experience as I was given the responsibility of projecting films for the audience to view. I also had to control the lights and the sound from the projectionist booth. Overall it was fun and I would do it again.
I helped with the kitchen and the concession stand giving people their orders. It was nice seeing all the elementary school kids having fun and playing. It was nice knowing I helped make the event a success. I served 4 and half hours.
I volunteered during explore UT to help the computer store handout bags with information about the computer store as well as water bottles. It was nice to be able to give people information about where to go for computers as well as give out water. I served for 5 and a half hours.
The purpose of this event was to donate items for people in need on the drag as well as make Christmas cards and meet with other members of TIP. I went to the store and bought a whole bunch of things to donate and then dropped them off. I then went into a conference room where people we're eating pizza and making Christmas cards. It felt good to donate as well as meet with other members of TIP and socialize while serving a good cause.
