During this experience, I was tasked with helping to check-in the high school football recruits that were coming to watch the SCSU vs. FAMU football game. Located in the bookstore, I checked off the names of the athletes and gave them wristbands for their entry into the game. I enjoyed it a lot.
For these hours in the library, I volunteered on Monday October 3rd (8-9 pm), Thursday October 6th (8-9 am), Thursday October 13th (8-9 am), and Thursday October 20th (8-9 am) for a total of four hours. My tasks were to turn on the lights upstairs, check students for their ID's upon arriving to the library and reminding them to apply hand sanitizer.
For this experience, I assisted with folding of the 4-year planners for the rest of the freshman class. Once folded, my peers and I had to group them into groups of 10 and then transported them to all of the UNIV teachers. This experience was fun, as I got the opportunity to do it with friends!
I am so glad that I attended this event! I was afforded so much information about research opportunities and internships that I can take part in this summer. I am so excited to see the information I got from this meeting be put to life.
For these hours in the library, I volunteered on Thursday September 8th (8-9 am), Monday September 12th (8-9 pm), Monday September 19th (8-9 pm), and Thursday September 22 (8-9 am) for a total of four hours. My task was to check students for their ID's upon arriving to the library, as well as reminding them to apply hand sanitizer.
My experience volunteering in the library was very peaceful. During my time there, I was tasked with checking students for their ID cards, making sure they sanitized their hands before entering, and giving a headcount of students in the library at the top and bottom of the hour. Everything ran smoothly for my first time.
