About

Volunteers can choose to serve as either a community mentor or a fitness mentor. Each volunteer is paired up one on one with a student attending the Erskine Green Training Institute. Volunteers
are required to meet with the student once a week for an hour.

A community mentor is responsible for providing social guidance in the community by supporting their assigned student in social activities. Activities may include, but are not limited to, attending sporting events, concerts, movies and malls. A community mentor is expected to spend time with their assigned student at least once per week. Mentors and students may choose to meet more as agreed upon by both parties.

A fitness mentor is responsible for participating in fitness activities with their assigned student. Fitness activities may include, but are not limited to, biking, running, lifting, walking and attending aerobics classes. A fitness mentor is required to participate in at least one fitness activity per week with their assigned student. Mentors and students may choose to meet more as agreed upon by both parties.
