St. Joseph Academy

About

Our work began in the Milwaukee area over 100 years ago. Initially we opened an orphanage on the south side of Milwaukee. The orphanage served a high population of children of Polish heritage. In 1968 we closed the orphanage and received a license to operate a child care facility. Today we are licensed to serve 225 children ages 6 weeks young through 12 years old. Both our students and staff members are culturally diverse. We are proud to say that we are a 5 Star entity accredited by the National Accreditation Commission (NAC). We began a 4 yr old kindergarten program in the fall of 2009 as a Milwaukee Parental Choice School. September of 2016 we will open our Grade 6 classroom. We now have an enrollment of approximately 440 students in the school. St. Joseph Academy is nationally accredited through AdvancEd.

St. Joseph Academy strives to provide a Christian environment for the care and education of children. It is a faith-based educational organization sponsored by the Felician Sisters which has two main programs: an Early Childhood Education Center which serves infants up to 12 year old students in the before/after school setting and a Milwaukee Parental Choice School which serves K4 through Grade 6 students. Our mission is to educate children to be successful life-long learners and problem solvers. We are guided by the core values of Respect for Human Dignity, Compassion, Justice and Peace, Transformation, and Solidarity with the Poor. We partner with families and community to fulfill this mission.
